ALL about Iizaka Onsen!
The land of Japan is graced with so many "onsen" hot springs. The people of this beautiful country are well acquainted with the fun of hot spring bathing from old times. For example, the old hot spring town of Iizaka, or gIizaka Onsen,h is said to have a history that dates back some 2,000 years.

gIizakah is the name of the area and gOnsenh means ghot spring.h Iizaka Onsen contains some 60 Japanese-style inns and many hot spring wells. We can host thousands of overnight guests at one time. It is said Iizaka Onsen is the largest hot spring area in northeastern Japan. It is located in Fukushima City in Fukushima Prefecture.

The "Sabako-yu" public bathhouse is the most suitable symbol enhancing the Iizaka Onsen resort complex. The building you can see today was completed in 1993; it is a true reproduction of the original wooden structure that was built in the 19th century. The hot spring water of Sabako-yu was first found in ancient times and has been very popular ever since. In addition there are eight other public bathhouses. All of them have also been in operation since old times. The local people and visitors love them as they provide relaxation and recreation.


Iizaka Onsen is surrounded by a fruit farming area. And the scenic road running close to this hot spring town is called the gFruit Line.h In spring you can enjoy the many fruit farms in bloom ? pink peach blossoms and the white blossoms of pears, grapes and apples. The harvest seasons range from summer, fall to early winter.
